CHERVIL

Chervil: the delicate and fragile sister of parsley, with a mild and fresh flavor somewhere between parsley and early Spring tarragon. But not quite…as Chervil has a gentle, fine flavor all its own. The herb is, like parsley and dill, a member of the carrot family, but is diminutive, feathery, and fern-like, and grows in a branching triangular shape.

Finnicky to grow, with a preference for cool Spring temperatures, Chervil has a reputation for being high maintenance. But when the conditions are good, it’s abundant, tender, and beautiful. Regardless of the visual condition of the herb, use your order within a week. This delicate herb has a tendency to take on refrigerator flavors or become dull after a week or so.
