OPAL BASIL

A basil cultivar grown for its striking purple color which varies from mottled purple-brown-green to almost black. Its flavor is slightly more lemony than sweet basil and equally tender. Young leaves lack serration and are the darkest color; in age, leaves develop serrated edges and green-brown mottling. In the height of season, pluches may be available by special request.
