Red Mizuna

The face of Red Mizuna leaves is a deep, dark, purple, a black-burgundy, an evocation of night, and a striking contrast to most foods. The underside of the leaves is equally interesting: with deep purple veins on a mottled purple/green backdrop. On the plate, Red Mizuna almost looks like Japanese Maple leaves.

Our leaves are taken only from young plants, when the flavor is mildest and freshest, and the stems are most tender. Red Mizuna can be grown successfully year-round, but is sweetest when exposed to cold weather.
