Wintercress

Have you seen this sweet little weed everywhere you look? Invading your garden, your potted plants, your driveway, the smallest patch of dirt?
Ubiquitous and unassuming, this sweet herb belongs to a genus of 22 species collectively called wintercress. Our leaves have beautiful circular lobes on a tender central stem, are mildly peppery, and refreshing, like a stronger version of watercress. Named for the season in which they flourish, wintercress is happiest in the coldest months, lending bright green freshness and playful dimension to the plate as we wait patiently for Spring.
